She can tell there's some regret in his response. Likely because he's worried that his answer is disappointing. And of course there's a part of her that can't help but hope that maybe, just once, the universe would stop coming between them. But this is something too - she can enjoy this time, however much she has. Moreover, if this version of Bucky has felt so alone, she definitely wants to ease some of that.

"Don't sound so apologetic," she answers with a smile, letting her thumb brush against his cheekbone again. It occurs to her that he could probably stand to hear what she'd been thinking earlier. Even though she's not usually forthcoming with her feelings, he's always been the exception to her rules. "I told the other version of you once that you're always enough for me, no matter how you turn up. I meant with or without memories. But I guess I can expand that to include 'from a different universe.'"
